Compositions

While working on Compositions No. 17 and 27, my focus was on trying to find the ideal harmony in the arrangement of certain objects in a given space. The camera was mounted on a tripod and I kept going back and forth to re-arrange the objects vis-à-vis each other as I tried different combinations. The items in the photographs have no symbolic significance, they were just things that I happened to have at hand. In the end, from about 30 photographs, I chose 2 that I believe turned out the best. What was important for me was to observe the progression of my relationship towards the various arrangements in the photographs. The decision to show more than one photograph only came about during the process, which took place over a period of about 2 weeks.
